1p., 4to. 22 lines of text. In very good condition, on lightly-aged paper, with traces of mount on reverse. After asking for his name to be added to the list of subscribers, he makes three numbered 'suggestions in reference to the extended popularity of the proposed undertaking', regarding English-language works and the publication of chronicles, regarding which he states: 'It has often appeared to me to be a matter of regret, that many of the earlier historical works connected with British History & written in a foreign language, although quoted by every modern historian, have never been translated into English, whilst such authors as Camden & Froissart under the advantage of an English dress, are amongst our most popular works.' He suggests that 'some of the gentlemen connected with the Camden Society [...] take the matter into consideration & promote this desirable object'. Lever appears on the list of subscribers from 1838, and continues at least until 1855-6.
