2pp., 4to. In good condition, lightly aged. Cockburn is not named as the recipient, but the item comes from his papers. William (at the time the Duke of Clarence) writes: 'I rejoice exceedingly at the favourable account you are enabled to give me concerning the late examination for Adjutants amongs the Royal Marine Officers'. He is anxious to have Cockburn's 'various reports from the different Divisions'. Regarding what appears to be an engraving of a painting of himself for presentation to the officers, he instructs Cockburn to arrange a meeting at St James's Palace, so that they 'may finally settle the design for the Picture as I am desirous of seeing the <?> Divisions impressions of their respective Portraits'.
