Heavenly Father, I thine unworthy Creature do prostrate myself before thy divine Majesty - requesting that thou wilt hear my prayer, which I now offer up to thee for all those of my fellow creatures, who are in the poor House - Have mercy upon them - put it in the hearts of others, who have the power, that they may also have the will to bring about a reformation therein, for it is a sad thing that so many are without that spiritual care and instruction which they ought to have to fit them both for this World and the next -'. The prayer concludes: 'for the sake of Jesus Christ our most blessed Lord & Saviour | Amen.' Following the prayer the author has added the following note: 'ound by accident on the birth day of the Author after 38 years. eader go to that House & enquire, & see how far this Prayer has been answerd'.
