The letter relates to the 1889 revival at the London Opera Comique of the role which made her famous, Stephanie, Marquise de Mohrivar, in Merivale and Grove?s 1879 play ?Forget Me Not?. Begins: ?Dear Mr Broadley / Have you received your stall for Forgetmenot at the Comique today 3 o?clock? if not may I hope that you will come & I will leave the ticket in an envelope for you at the Box Office.? She points out that he told her that he had not seen the piece, ?& I should be so pleased if you will come & see [me] as Stephanie?.
