In reply to the unnamed recipient's letter, he writes that he has presented to the Berlin Academy 'votre Prospectus que vous les avez deja fait parvenir par M le Directeur Merian [i.e. Johann Bernhard Merian (1723-1807)].' The Academy wishes Formey to thank the writer for his attentions, but as such works do not feature 'dans le plan de la Bibliotheque', the Academy will not be able to profit from the offer.

8vo, 13 pp. Paginated I-XV. Eight-leaf unbound bifolium. Unbound and unstitched, the whole held together by a pin in the gutter. Good, on wove paper, but with title-page somewhat discoloured with damp. Separate printed title, 'NOTICE SUR Mr. F. G. MAURICE.' Inscribed [to?] at head of title-page, 'Msr Marshall Newton-Kyme, Tadcaster, Yorkshire'.

(1815) "Je ne me suis appercu qu'hier soir en [?] moi de la mweprise que j'ai faite en vous [?] brouillons de la note [cy . . . ?] que je vous destinais. / Je vous prie de la substituer a celle que j'avais faire d'abord trop longue ou trop embarrassee de choses inutiles. / Je crois que celle cy [est?] trop longue et meme superflue, au reste ce n'est qu'avec vous que je crois . . . [can't read it] de communications ulterieuses. il me suffisait . . .".
