An excellent letter casting interesting light on the machinations of the Liberal government. Erskine is attempting something requiring all of his diplomatic tact: sending appropriate condolences to Elliot on his father's death before turning to his 'own concerns': the putting of his case to Elliot as the brother-in-law of the Foreign Secretary Lord John Russell, on the question of his 'grievance' against Russell and the Foreign Office.

Small octavo. 124 pages. Four illustrations (pages, 9, 11, 76 and 100), including one of kangaroos and another of 'King Okalia with suite'. Good, in worn late 19th/early 20th century binding. Front wrap (with illustration of aborigine throwing spear) bound in. Bookplate of Gunnar von Heideken, and neat initials of 'F. V. Hen' at head of wrap. Apparently an account of a stay in the area of Adelaide. Includes glosses in Swedish of such words as boomerangs, bushrangers, waddies, piccaniny and swag. Intriguing (to non-Swedish speakers) mention of Lord Byron and Dick Turpin.

105pp., 8vo. Duplicated typescript, in two parts, each with title-page, continuously paginated. In good condition, lightly aged and worn. The piece, described as a 'musikdramatiskt' (music drama), was produced in 1976 by the Kungliga Teatern, Operan, and in 1977 on the Sveriges Radio. No other copy traced, either on COPAC or OCLC WorldCat.

One page. Dimensions of paper roughly seven inches by eleven. Poor: paper discoloured and with some loss to edges (affecting three words of text) and a closed tear. Recently repaired with archival tape and at an earlier period backed with paper. Verso attached to smaller leaf of blank paper. Fourteen lines of text.
