See his entry in the Oxford DNB. 1p, 8vo. Folded into four quarters, with the blank reverse of one of them mounted on a leaf extracted from an album. The glue from the mount has discoloured the letter, and one corner has been cut away (with no loss of text), otherwise in good condition. He begins by reminding him that ‘Some time ago you read a Play of mine, entitled “Mr Bridie’s Finger” which I had forwarded to Messrs Benn. / You handed it to me at your office and asked me to return it later.’ He is enclosing the play, and asks whether to send it to Messrs Benn.

Folded once, and with biographical information in small type at head. Addressed to ‘Messrs. Henry & Co’, publishers of his recently published book: ‘Dear Sirs / I am obliged for the two Copies of “In Cambridge Courts” which you sent me. Will you kindly send my further Copies to me at / 15 Berkeley Square / London W. / May I take this opportunity of congratulating you on the get up of the book. It is charming.’

He writes: ‘In 1900 (I think) I gave a lecture on Round About the Andamans & Nicobars published in vol XLVIII. If you have a separate copy left I shall be glad if you can send me one on payment / from Yrs trly / R. C. Temple’.
