There has been a recent resurgence of interest in the work of the English 'Tachiste' artist Derek Middleton (full name Derek Osborne Middleton), but the fact that he lived in France from 1958 to his death in 1983 has restricted the English-language source material relating to the artist, even leading to his date of death being given incorrectly as 2002.
