In fair condition, on lightly aged and worn paper. The pamphlet contains 20 figures, and is divided into nine chapters, with five appendices on chiropody.

4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, on aged paper. Reed was a collector of autographs, and has written his accession mark in a small hand at the foot of the first page. Headed by Cardwell 'Private'. He begins: 'Lt. Jordan, having so far committed himself, as to be undergoing imprisonment under the sentence of the High Court of Justice in India, and his antecedents having been far from uniformly favourable, - His Royal Highness asked me to concur in a recommendation which he proposed to submit to the Queen that Lt. Jordan's services be dispensed with.

Both items in good condition, on lightly aged paper. LETTER: 2pp., 12mo. Bifolium. He begins by informing him when he will be arriving in Wolverhampton from Euston, adding that he will be 'very glad' to see Hoult 'and the Chairman at the R[ailway]. S[tation].' He 'will have to go direct to the Agricultural Hall to give directions to my men what to do. Kerr comes down later.' He concludes in the hope that 'Mr Hook from Birmingham will come early also'. NOTE: 1p., 16mo. Mourning border. 'I have not seen a report of my address. Was it printed?'

Tipped-in onto a leaf removed from an album. Light pencil notes on back of map. At head: 'A Map of the North Coast of Devon' (7.5 x 25 cm). At foot: 'A Plan of the Town of Ilfracombe, published by J. Banfield, Library, Ilfracombe' (12 x 25 cm). In right hand margin: 'Reference to the Plan', with 42 entries from 'Tunnels' to 'Montpelier Road'.

One page, 8vo, fold mark, small chip off corner, text complete and ow good. A request for letters to be posted earlier to relieve strains on the system. No other copy yet traced.

39pp., small 4to. Stud-bound in brown card printed wraps. In good condition, lightly aged and worn, with crease to front cover, to which the enamel badge is also attached, beside the ownership signature of 'E J Sayer' (Downing Street secretary Elizabeth Sayer, later Cooper.). First page dated in pencil '8th Sept', and pencil note in text of the 'permitted dose' of radiation.

21pp., foolscap 8vo. In fair condition, lightly aged and worn. The document presents a mass of information. A 'Brief History' in the form of a chronology (pp.2-4), is followed by a section setting out the conditions of 'Membership of the Victoria Police Force' (pp.5), followed by a table of 'Ranks, Insignia and Retiring Age' (p.6).

He has heard that King is 'to preside at the dinner tomorrow' and so is writing to him 'what I wrote to Smith that I am very sorry I can not "support the Chair", as I had a previous inviitation - our friends gave me this time only a few day's notice'. In any case, he has 'such a miserable cold' and is 'so incapable' that he will be 'no loss to your party'. It is with difficulty that he has 'got through my numerous mail duties'.

1p., 12mo. In poor condition, aged and worn, with rust marks to margin and corners. 'My dear Sir | If you could conveniently look in upon me tomorrow (Wednesday) about 2 OC'K I should be glad to have some talk with you'.

3pp., 4to. Bifolium. Very good, on lightly-aged paper. Newcastle has already been informed of Price's wish to be placed in the Colonial Office by 'the Duke of Roxburghe and others, whose interest in his wefare, would have great weight with me, if I felt that I could consistently with the present claims upon me, hold out any hope of complying with Mr. Price's request'.

On two bifoliums, with four of the eight sides blank, with the reason for the arrangement stated at the head of the title: 'N.B. - The four pages following this Title may be separated, and pasted on a board.' In fair condition, on aged paper, with remains of the paper on which the two bifoliums were mounted on the blank reverses of the second leaves of both. 8pp., 12mo. Stapled and unbound. In good condition, on aged high-acidity paper, with slight wear to extremities. Blind stamps and shelfmark of the Hartford Theological Seminary. The text begins: 'The House having under consideration the bill (S. 5876) to establish postal savings depositories for depositing savings at interest with the security of the Government for the repayment thereof, and for other purposes - | Mr SULZER said: [...]'.
