From the 1890s Marshall lived with Ellen Terry's daughter Edith Ailsa Geraldine Craig (1869-1947), and she edited the mother’s memoirs in 1933. Marshall attempted suicide when Craig received a marriage proposal from the musician Martin Shaw, but the relationship between the two women, and Clare Atwood, continued to Edith Craig’s death in 1947. 2pp, 12mo. In good condition, lightly aged. Folded twice. Signed ‘Christopher St. John’ and addressed to ‘Dear Mr MacQueen Pope’.
