The first two sets of accounts each 2pp., on a bifolium; the last two each 1p., on a single leaf. Each of the four sets of accounts is on the same printed form, with a full-page printed text, dated from 'Paternoster Row, London, | January 1843.', headed 'Messrs.

2pp., on 16mo, bifoliate card. In good condition, lightly-aged. One panel advertises 'a series of bible lectures to be delivered (God willing) by the Ecclesia in Wellington': 'SEATS FREE. NO COLLECTION. BRING BIBLES FOR REFERENCE.' The text explains that 'Palestine is very much in the public eye at this time as men watch the developments in the Land concerning which the Bible says so much: yet few realise that current events there are fulfilment of Bible prophecy, and that the future of the Land is also foretold in no uncertain way.

3 ALsS, all on letterheads of Coombe Bissett, Salisbury; 27 April and 25 May 1947, and 11 Oct. 1949, total 5pp., 12mo and 8vo. The first letter begins 'My sister Dorothy has told me of your idea of having a drawing of your husband. I shall be pleased to undertake this, though I regard it as the most exacting branch of my trade.' Describes in detail what the process would entail. The second cancels a sitting, 'Owing to a muddle about the future to which I am especially liable'.

ONE: Typed agreement between The Vulcan Motors (London) Limited and The Urban Distric Council of Chiswick, dated 12 September 1923, signed by the directors of Vulcan Motors and their secretary. 2pp., folio. Substantially Howard League views, and mainly concerned with 'The Experience of Abolition in other Countries'. Both in fair condition, aged and worn, and each with particular wear to the title leaf.

33pp., 8vo. In brown printed wraps. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets, and with library stitching on spine. Aged and worn, with stamp of the Free Public Library, Wigan, to damaged front cover. Covers and last leaf loose. 82 lots with unusually detailed descriptions. Mostly devoted to British artists, the collection included a Constable, couple of Turners, three Gainsboroughs and four by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Scarce: the only copy on COPAC or WorldCat at Oxford.

On both sides of a rectangular (5.5 x 16.5 cm) strip cut from letter. In fair condition, with light signs of age and wear. Recto: '4 Brixton place | Brixton Surry [sic] | Janry: 12th. 1833 | Sir | M Mackenzie has conveyed to me y polite offier of allowing a few prospectus of my [...]'. Verso: 'to Dr. Tournay by my friend Dr Burney, but as your house is the rendezvous of all the learned & the rich in Oxford, perhaps it is unnecessary for me to solicit the onor of Dr Tournay's influence. | I remain, | [...]'.

1p., 12mo. On aged and worn paper, with two punch holes at head. The letter is written to enclose particulars (not present) 'relating to the Chelsea Hospital for Women', in which Cadogan takes 'a deep interest'. He hopes Tuck 'may be induced to become one of its supporters, as it is urgently in need of increased assistance'. The Hospital's secretary will acknowledge all contributions on Cadogan's behalf.

On 7 x 11 cm slip of paper. In fair condition, aged and creased. The note, all in Beechey's hand, and probably addressed to a bookseller, reads: 'Monsieur - | De Regno Laconico, de Piraeeo. 1687. 2to. | Mr. Beechey | 16th. May'.

On 8.5 x 9.5 cm piece of paper. In good condition, with light signs of age. Reads: '"Littera scripta manet" | Valentine Chirol'.

Lambert's attractive signature ('Constant Lambert') on piece of 7.5 x 11 cm thin card. Lightly aged and creased, and with evidence of previous mounting on reverse.

Seventy numbered paragraphs, divided into two main parts, 'A Summary of the National Health Service Act' (itself divided into five parts: Central Administration; Hospital and Specialist Services; Health Services provided by Local Health Authorities; General Medical and Dental Services, Pharmaceutical Services and Supplementary Ophthalmic Services; Mental Health Services) and 'The Profession and the Act'.
